THINGS TO DO
FLY FISHING
It would not be a Richardson wedding weekend without fly fishing on the Bitterroot River. And June is the very best time of year to fish in the Valley! The river runs through the middle of town and there are quite a few local fishing guides that are available to take you on day trips. If you’re interested in booking a day trip, contact Lauren or Tanner. Jeff (Lauren’s dad) has the hookups!
Please note, the Bitterroot can be a dangerous river. Please be sure to check water levels, potential hazards and take necessary safety precautions.
BREWERIES
There are several breweries in town. Stop by, try local beers and grab a bite to eat.
During the summer, one of Lauren and Tanner’s favorite spots is Bitter Root Brewing for their Huckleberry lemonade. Huckleberries are native to Montana. Think of a cross between a blueberry and a cranberry. Give it a try, it’s delish!
FARMERS MARKET
Check out the Hamilton Farmers Market in historic Downtown Hamilton on Saturday mornings! The market runs from 9am to 12:30pm and displays a variety of local food, beverages and crafts. We recommend checking out the Red Rooster truck!
LAKE COMO
About 30-minutes outside of town there is a beautiful lake in the mountains. You can hike the perimeter trail or lounge on the beach on warm days. There are local outfitters that will rent water equipment (kayaks, etc.) if you are looking for more adventure. The water might be a bit cold in June but it’s worth the trip (even if you have to stay dry)!
BLOGETT CANYON TRAIL
This is a well-traveled trail and has incredible views at the top. It’s an easy out and back hike that’s ~2.8 miles long total. Be sure to bring appropriate shoes, water and sunscreen!
OTHER HIKES
There are also lots of other great hikes in the area too, check out AllTrails for more options.
DOWNTOWN HAMILTON
Take a stroll through town!
There are fun local shops, art galleries, and restaurants to check out.
